About Me

Here’s how it all started…

Hi, I'm Personal Shopper Erica!

I am a born and raised New Yorker with a strong background in online retail sales working full-time since late 2011 with my family-owned eBay store bestdiscountsforu that has been in operation since 2003. 

Its existence has especially been a blessing as it has provided me with the necessary work-life balance to never miss a step in being by my parents’ side through my mother’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatment since March 2011 and my father’s more recent lung cancer diagnosis in December 2022. Thankfully both are currently doing very well!

As a huge lifelong fan of Harry Potter, Disney, and Nintendo I have purchased countless merchandise throughout the years from the NYC stores, traveling to the Florida theme parks, and attending conventions (New York Comic Con, PAX EAST, etc.), fulfilling numerous pick-up requests from family and friends that live out-of-state or abroad along the way as well.

All of these experiences give me a very strong foundation to provide future shoppers with a smoothly operated and fair-priced personal shopping service built on clear communication every step of the way that will hopefully have them wanting to come back again and again!

Here’s how to make your wishes come true…

HOW DOES YOUR PERSONAL SHOPPING SERVICE WORK?

I regularly visit the Harry Potter, Disney, and Nintendo NYC stores and upload photos  and videos to @shopformagicalmerch on Instagram that potential shoppers can browse through to see all the existing inventory and newest merchandise. See the FAQ section down below  for more information about item retail prices.

You can send a direct message (DM) to  @shopformagicalmerch or an email to shopformagicalmerch@gmail.com with any inquiries you may have and/or if you are interested in making a purchase and are ready to start your WISHLIST.

Want an item you don’t see on my Instagram store page? No problem! Just send a photo reference and I can shop for that, too!

Shoppers are only required to pay an initial deposit of $5 PER ITEM on your wishlist which will be subtracted from your order’s final total once it is completed. There is no limit on how many items can be added.

HOW DO YOU PLACE AN ORDER?

 Once your wishlist is finalized and the shopping process is set to begin, you then just have to simply follow these few steps:

1. Pay the deposit within 24 HOURS of the invoice being sent to your provided email to keep your spot in the shopping line.
2. I will begin to fulfill your wishlist within ONE DAY of the first invoice being paid.
3. You will receive an update that evening on the status of what was able to be purchased (or if anything may have been out of stock).
4. After shopping is completed a final invoice detailing all retail price of items, personal shopping fees, and shipping costs will be sent and MUST BE PAID WITHIN 24 HOURS  of receiving the order total. 
5. Your order will then promptly be packaged and shipped!

WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL SHOPPING FEES?

The final price of EACH INDIVIDUAL ITEM added to your wishlist is calculated based on the following:

Retail price (PER ITEM)
+ Taxes (PER ITEM)
+ Personal Shopping Fee (PER ITEM):
Up to $15.00 —>  $3.50 per item…
$15.01 – $30.00 —> $6 per item…
$30.01 – $45.00 —> $9 per item…
$45.01 – $60.00 —> $13 per item…
$60.01 – $75.00 —> $16 per item…
$75.01 and up  —> 25% of item price (per item)…
+ Shipping and Processing (BASED ON TOTAL ORDER)

WHAT ARE YOUR PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS?

Shoppers are NOT required to pay the full total of their order until it has been completed as it is not guaranteed that the item(s) requested will be in stock when I reach the store.

If ALL item(s) on your wishlist are unavailable, your initial deposit will immediately be fully refunded.
If SOME item(s) on your wishlist are unavailable, the $5 deposit(s) for those item(s) will be put towards the total price of your order.

OR

You can instead opt to give up to ONE WEEK at a time to give me the opportunity to keep trying to acquire any missing items.

Since I assume the risk of paying the total price upfront on acquired merchandise before requesting full payment from shoppers, it cannot be stressed enough that any items officially added to your wishlist must be treated as a serious commitment towards making a purchase.-

HOW WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

Most orders that weigh up to 75 lbs. will be shipped via USPS Ground Advantage (takes approximately 3-4 days to deliver).
Any orders that do not qualify will receive a specialized quote.
If you wish to receive your order sooner, do not hesitate to inquire about express shipping options!

There are NO extra personal shopping fees added to the shipping total.

Your order’s shipping cost will be provided once I have finished acquiring your item(s) so it can be properly calculated based on weight, size, and destination to be as accurate as possible. You will receive the quote before the final invoice is sent.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

Sorry, at this current moment only domestic orders are able to be accepted.

I hope to incorporate taking pick-up requests from international shoppers VERY SOON, however, so please stay tuned!

DO YOU ACCEPT CANCELLATIONS, EXCHANGES, OR REFUNDS?

***PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING POLICIES:
1. FAILURE TO PAY THE FINAL INVOICE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF BEING SENT TO YOUR EMAIL WILL LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF YOUR ORDER, LOSS OF YOUR DEPOSIT, AND AN IMMEDIATE BAN FROM ANY FUTURE USE OF MY PERSONAL SHOPPING SERVICE.
2. ALL PROPERLY COMPLETED SALES ARE FINAL.
3. NO EXCHANGE OR RETURN REQUESTS CAN OR WILL BE ACCEPTED.
NOTE:
EXCEPTIONS WOULD ONLY OCCUR IN THE EVENT OF AN ERROR IN YOUR ORDER SOMEHOW BEING MADE ON MY PART AS I WILL DO WHATEVER NECESSARY TO RECTIFY ANY ISSUE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.

DO YOU HAVE ALL ITEMS’ RETAIL PRICES AVAILABLE?

I do my best to try and take note on how much an item costs each time I travel to the stores, but being that there is so much merchandise it is obviously hard to have the retail price of every last item offhand!

If you see something on my Instagram store page that you are interested in and are curious about its retail price you can send a DM  or email and I will absolutely provide you with that information if I have it on record.

I will almost always certainly have the stores newest items’ retail prices!

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON’T HAVE AN ITEM’S RETAIL PRICE?

If I do not immediately have it (and no Google search or checking around social media was able to provide you with the answer), you can still make the decision to choose between the following options:

1. Be willing to wait until I make one of my next regular visits (happens every other weekday if I don’t have any active order to fulfill) to get the retail price for you.

OR

2. Add it to your wishlist along with a price range of what you’re willing to pay for it with the commitment that I will immediately purchase it for you as long as it falls within the range given.

If this is the only item on your wishlist, your $5 deposit will be refunded if it does not meet your given price range as it will be treated the same as not being in stock unless you make the decision to still want to purchase the item once you are informed of its price.

DO YOU PERSONALLY CARRY ANY MERCHANDISE IN STOCK?

NO. 

All purchases are made based on the shopper’s individual order and what’s currently available in the stores.

What’s in stock can change at any moment so if you want the best possible chance to secure an item you really want to message me TODAY!!!
